Nothing Important.... Just Some Random Rambling!

It's been a bit, but I just really haven't been in the mood to write. Yesterday started week 20 in my pregnancy. I haven't been sick, but I have just been so tired. I feel good, but everything wears me out! Today, I feel jittery. I don't know any other way to describe it. Just weak and jittery. Jay and I are being lazy souls today. He worked at the race track last night, and didn't get home until 5:30 this morning. I crawled out of bed around 11 and went to the salon to visit with a friend that used to work with us. She moved to Tuscaloosa a couple of years ago, and we miss her so much. After Kim finished her hair, we went to lunch together. It was very nice.

Landon started school last week. He's having a hard time adjusting. In 4 days, 2 notes were sent home and there was a phone call home. Landon doesn't pay attention, Landon doesn't keep his hands to himself, Landon likes to talk, Landon doesn't sit still during reading time....... Personally, I think the teacher needs to get hold of her classroom. I'm not saying Landon is right, but she is a trained, professional, Kindergarten teacher, and she can't handle a 5 year old. Jay and I are going to meet with her sometime this week. She is supposed to get back with us to set up a time. My little man likes to push his limits, and if she doesn't call his bluff soon, he will push further and further.

Misty has decided that we are now best friends again. I'm not really sure what Jay did to make her mad, but she hates him and loves me again. Three letters can sum up how I feel about that: UGH!!!!! She drives me insane. I have never in my life, had to deal with somebody like her. She is the most miserable person I know, and she wants everybody else to be as miserable as she is. So....as you can guess, she makes my life Hell as often as possible. I was on the phone with her for 45 minutes Friday. Once again...UGH!! I really wish there was a way I could make her disappear. Our life would be so wonderful without her in it. I talked to Landon last week and he asked when I was gonna pick him up. When I told him that it was his weekend to stay with him mommy he sounded so disappointed. He asked "do I have to spend it all with her?" How sad is that? I wish I could run away with him. It wouldn't be so bad if he acted like he enjoyed being with her. I know he loves her, but he does not enjoy spending time with her. Maybe one day he can come and live with us. That would be a wonderful day!!!

On a brighter note!! We go tomorrow to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. I can't wait. We are so excited. As everybody knows..... we are hoping for a girl, but I just can't wait to find out so that we can start planning. This baby is going to be spoiled so rotten. I felt it fluttering around last night and I almost cried. It is the most amazing feeling I have ever experienced. I am so in love with this child. Landon will be such a good big brother, too. He likes to ask the baby questions and then he'll put his ear to my belly and listen for answers. The other day he was listening and he looks up so excited and says "Baby Jelly says she's black!!!" I laughed so hard I cried. Jay wasn't so sure if that was funny or not. He asks her all the time if she has hair, what color it is, what color her eyes are, if she's hungry.... on and on. He's such a cutie. We are going to really have to re-program him, as well as ourselves, if it is a boy.

Stay tuned.... I'll let you know tomorrow what we find out!!!

It's Been a Few Days...

It's been a few days since I've written. There really hasn't been anything major to write about...Just the normal day to day. Landon has been with us for the last two weeks. He went home tonight to be with his mom for the weekend. He will be back on Sunday night. I wish I could keep him forever. Jay and I have seriously discussed full custody. His mother would never let us have him, without a fight. However, I feel like if he had the choice, he would stay with us. Maybe one day. I really just want the best for him. That's what I pray for.
I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. The nurse was listening for the heartbeat and had a hard time finding it. Our sweet baby might be a little hyper active. It wouldn't quit kicking so that the nurse could get to the heartbeat. When she finally did hear it, it was loud and clear, and very strong. I know that everybody that has ever had a baby finds it amazing, but I am just in awe of how spectacular this is. I am so excited. I am enjoying every minute of knowing there is a human being growing inside me. I live for doctor appointments so I can know more. In August, we get to do another ultra-sound, and find out if it's a boy or a girl. Doctor Loncar told me, according to an old wives tale, the heartbeat sounds like a girl. :-) We'll see!!! I am officially wearing maternity clothes. Nothing fits. I've only gained 3 pounds since last month, but I feel like my whole body is shifting around. My back hurts terribly. That is one thing the doctor seemed concerned about. She told me to be extra careful and not to be lifting anything. Of course....anybody who knows me, knows that is not a problem.
We had a yard sale last Saturday. Jay and I made over $350. We were very excited. We went Monday and picked up the new flooring for the hallway. He's almost finished putting it in. He just has a little around the edges left. And, anybody who knows Jay knows.....this could take a year to finish. I love my husband, but he loves to start projects and never finish them. It drives me crazy!!! The floors are great though. So much better than the ugly green linoleum/ partial hard wood/ pieces of ply wood. UGH! It was horrible.
Jay played softball with Southwest Baptist Church Monday night. He had a blast playing, I had a great time watching with the other wives, and Landon had a ball playing with the kids. Landon went to Bible School there last week. He came home telling me about a girl that was his friend. He talked about her all the time, but couldn't remember her name. His description was so funny... She has long blonde hair and two eyes...just like me. I was very excited that his friend has two eyes. I finally figured it out at the ballgame. Her name is Leah, and she is very cute. Her mom said she had been talking about Landon non-stop also. She remembered his name though.
Tomorrow night, Luke is bringing his new girlfriend to meet us all. We are going to grill hamburgers and play cards. Susie and Nathan will be here too. Luke is so nervous. It cracks me up. She seems to be a really nice girl. She has a funny sense of humor, like Luke. I met her several years ago, but haven't been around her since. We are friends on facebook and talk on there some. She seems excited to come over. Luke....well, I'm not so sure about him. He's worried that we're going to embarrass him. I don't know why he thinks that at all?!?!
So...that's about it. Nothing major has been going on, just a bunch of busy stuff. I'll keep you posted on how tomorrow goes. Night!!

Beach

I just got home from the beach. I had a wonderful time. I went with my two aunts, Connie and Trina, and my Mom. We left out on Wednesday. When we got there, we unpacked and enjoyed our condo for a bit. Then, we went to eat at the Shrimp Basket! mmmmmm!!!!!! So good! Of course, I had shrimp.....blackened this time. After eating, we went back to the condo and sat on the balcony for hours. We laughed and talked and listened to the waves forever!! It was so nice. On Thursday, we went to the beach for awhile. It didn't last for long, before the rain came in. We sat in porch swings watching the rain for a long time. We finally decided to go shopping. Pretty awesome that we did!!! My aunts decided to spoil me. We found a Motherhood Maternity store, and I lucked out! They bought me five outfits! Yay!!! I am also the owner of a new pair of Croc flip flops. Thank you Connie and Trina!! Then, we went to eat at Lulu's. Yummy..again!! Anyone want to guess what I had? SHRIMP!! Grilled this time. On Friday, we had some major beach time. Too much for me! I got a huge sunburn. I used sunscreen, but it didn't matter. I had a couple of blisters, and my legs are still swollen. Hopefully, this will go away soon. It sure was nice laying in the sunshine, though!! After a painful shower, we went to eat at Wintzell's. Brace yourself....I had steak. However, it was topped with shrimp and crab meat. Aw....soooooo good! Saturday when I woke up, I could hardly walk. My legs, back, boobs, butt...everything hurt! Needless to say, even if the sun had been out, I was staying in. It rained off and on most of the day. I napped almost all day! It was wonderful! At one point Mom heard the door open. She thought it was Trina and Connie. She peeked out of the bedroom to say hi, and there was a teenage boy....in our condo.... Mom explained to him, as he nearly panicked, that he was in the wrong room. He then noticed, very nervously, that he was on the wrong floor. Poor kid! He was scared out of his mind! Only a few minutes later, Connie and Trina really did come in. We had King Neptunes for supper. You can all guess....I had grilled shrimp! And it was yummy!!! This morning we got up and got packed and headed out. We wasted some time at Books a Million until Lambert's opened. We had a wonderful lunch, I stopped by Motherhood Maternity one more time, and then we headed home. It was such a great trip. I enjoyed being there, but even more, I enjoyed being with great company! I love you all, and I missed the other Vest Girls that weren't able to be there!

Memorial Day

Jay, Landon, and I went to the lake and camped with mom and dad last night. We grilled hamburgers and just hung out last night. Then, this morning, Jay and Papa Tim took Landon fishing. He caught his first fish. Jay said he caught about 5 by himself, then he reeled in Papa Tim's. Landon told me he caught 20...... I think he's already learning how to be a "true fisherman!" Mamaw, Papaw, Daniel, Colt, and Marlee came over and we had a fish fry. Some friends, at the lake came down to eat with us. Jay and I had grilled hamburgers because we don't like fried fish. Daddy also fried onion rings, green tomatoes, and french fries. Yummy!! It was so good. Just about the time we sat down to eat, the bottom fell out of the sky. It rained so hard the entire time we ate lunch. Then, it cleared up and became a beautiful day. Me, Jay and Daniel took the kids down to the water to swim. They had so much fun. The water was really cold, but we stayed in for quite a while. Luke came down then and he and Jay took the kids out in the boat to fish. Daniel and I were sitting on the pier and our friends came around in there boat and asked if we wanted to ride! SURE!!! I jumped on the chance! We went around and found the guys and kids. Marlee and Landon decided they were coming back with us. We went back and walked back up to the camper. Our cousin Greg was there. Poor Landon, is sunburned! I am a bad mama! I have never had to worry about sunscreen and Colt and Marlee have never needed it either. I totally forgot how pale and white my little man is. Oooops! Guess I'll have to remember that next time....huh? Even though little man is a little burned, it didn't slow him down much. He still had a great time. It was a great weekend! I am glad to be home though, and I will be glad to sleep in my bed tonight! I have an incredibly busy day tomorrow and then Wednesday I am heading to the BEACH!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Today, we start Memorial Day weekend. It's pouring down rain and just yucky outside. However, I can't help but to sit here and be thankful! I am so thankful that my family is together. Last year on Memorial Day, Jay was on the other side of the Earth! Every holiday we spent apart was hard. Even though, he was in a safe place, it was always in the back of my mind... what if today is the day? Thank God! He came home safe!
So, today as it pours down rain, I do wish it would stop. But, I will not complain. I have my two favorite guys here with me, and I'll just sit back and enjoy them! And, I'll keep in mind all the other men and women who are fighting today, so that my family can be together. Thank you to all the military past and present, the ones who came home and the ones who gave their lives. Thank you God, for bringing my Soldier home!

5-26-10

Today, I am 8 1/2 weeks pregnant! I am so very happy! I have waited for so long to be able to say this! The last 4 or 5 weeks has been a complete roller coaster! My poor husband and mother must truly love me! That is all I can say. And to them, I have to say Thank You!!!! Poor Jay, he has done NOTHING right. He absolutely drives me insane! As the old saying goes, "if we make it through this, we can make it through anything!" We say that a lot. We have said that from the moment we got married. The first year of our marriage we spent less than 3 months together. Married on Tuesday, left for Fort McCoy on Friday. The following week he was gone to Iraq. That was last May. We didn't see each other again until December 26. We had 15 days together and he was gone again until April 3. What a beautiful day. And then, we dove head first into our next 2 projects! Remodeling our house and Baby Morse! We have a long way to go on both projects! Who knows when the house will be finished, but Baby Morse should be ready by January 2.
I got to see my precious baby on Monday. It was the most amazing and beautiful thing I have ever seen in my whole life. Even though that sweet baby is still inside me, I have learned what the saying "mother's love" really means. There are no words that express how I feel about this baby already. I could see arms and legs. It's little head moved around. It had a very strong heartbeat. It's amazing! (If I haven't said that already!) Even though I have known for about 5 weeks that I'm pregnant, now that I have seen it, it feels totally real now!
Landon isn't quite sure what to think yet.... When I first told him there was a baby in my belly, he looked at me with a horrified look on his face and asked me if I ate it! I didn't even know what to say back to that. Jay and I just looked at each other and laughed. Every so often, he'll get close to my belly and in a very serious and loud voice says HELLO! Then doesn't understand why the baby doesn't answer him. He's come a long way though. He used to tell us if we had a baby he would throw it in the garbage. He doesn't say that now. Thankfully!! He's such a funny boy, and I know that he will be a wonderful big brother!

Our Wedding Day

The morning of the wedding, the way it was supposed to happen:
At 7:00 am Jay was going to catch a flight from LaCrosse, WI to Chigago, IL. Then from Chigago, IL to Nashville, TN. He was going to land in Nashville around 10:00 am. From there, Terry was going to pick him up and they were going to head to Alabama. They were going to be here around lunch time. I was going to hide from him all day (a groom can't see his bride before the wedding). At 5:00, we were all going to be at the church and start pictures. At 7:00 the wedding was going to begin.

The morning of the wedding, the way it actually happened:
I woke up before 7:00, surprised that Landon was still in his bed and still asleep! (Normally he's in bed with me, talking non-stop, by 5:00 am.) Feeling excited, I called Jay to make sure that he was on his way to the airport. He was already there. Yay!!!! Everything is good! We're getting married!!!! Then...the nightmare began! Jay called a little later and told me that his flight was being canceled due to hydraulic problems. He was on standby for the next flight. He called a little later telling me that flight was overbooked. He didn't get on. (Meanwhile, I'm at home crying my eyes out!) So, then he gets in line to find out what to do next. He finds out there's a flight out of Rockchester, MN that will get him to Nashville in time. All he has to do is get a rental car. After he has waited in line forever, the totally rude girl at the counter tells him they won't accept his debit card. They needed a $500 deposit. (For those of you who don't know, we didn't have $500 in our account.) At this point, my poor, precious, sweet Jay, loses it! He told the girl at the counter what he thought about her, he called my mom screaming and crying, he paced the airport.....While he was in his "meltdown" state, a man that we don't know, gives Jay his car keys. He gave Jay his own personal car, to drive to Minnesota. He told Jay "go, you have a wedding to get to". Wow!!!! I am amazed everytime I think about this! So, Jay gets to Minnesota, only to find out that he had missed his flight. Finally, he gets on another flight. When he got seated, they announce a delay due to someone's armrest being broken. This took about 15 minutes to correct. All the while, Jay is telling everyone around him his story of the day. Just then, the Captain comes over the speaker and says, "ladies and gentlemen, we have a special guest on the flight today. His name is Jay Morse and he is a US soldier. He's trying to get home to get married before he leaves for Iraq next week. He's already late for his wedding, so if everyone will, please stay seated when the plane lands and let Jay off first." Jay said everyone on the plane started clapping. Finally, the plane took off. He landed in Nashville a little before 5:00 pm. (just a note....the wedding was supposed to start at 7, and it's a 2 hour drive from Nashville. Jay still had to come home and change clothes before coming to the church.)
Back in Hartselle, I've cried all day long. Everytime I heard an update, I came unglued again. That is until, I took a xanex. Those are wonderful little pills! Tammy and Joy and I went to get lunch and I helped myself to a Mango Margarita, this also helped settle me for the day. So then, I came home, got my things together and went to get my hair done. While at the salon, I was sitting in Kim's chair enjoying getting my hair done, and State Board came in. (another note: it is really stressful when State Board comes in) We got a 100! Then the phone rings. It's my grandmother calling to tell me the florist "forgot" to make the corsages. Luckily, it was my grandmother at the florist and not me. She was waaay nicer than me. She handled it, she went to another florist and had them made really quickly and they were awesome!
From there, I hurried to the church, got dressed, and started pictures. People began to arrive. I walked around and talked to them. Finally, at 7:00, Jay made it to Hartselle, went home, changed clothes and made it to the church by 7:30. The wedding started at 7:35 and was over at 8:05. It turned out beautiful! It was a wonderful wedding. And now....we are finally Mr and Mrs Morse!
